Behaviour Support Assistant

First Class Supply are working with a school in Whitley Bay, who is looking to appoint a full-time Behaviour Support Assistant. This role requires a committed, empathetic, enthusiastic and resilient Support Assistant who has experience working with Children with behaviours that challenge. Main duties include:

• Supporting pupils in Year 5 to Year 8
• Mange and de-escalate challenging behaviours
• Undertaking activities, as directed by the teacher, with individuals or small groups of pupils.
• Delivering interventions with individual children or small groups
• Working with pupils directly on curriculum related tasks under the direction of the teacher.
• Giving relevant feedback to the teacher regarding the need of the pupils therefore offering the teacher support in their assessment.

Successful applicants will:

• Have experience of working with children within an education setting
• Hold a full and relevant level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant child care discipline
• Have the ability to motivate and engage children
• Be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
• Have a minimum of 6 months recent experience within a UK setting
