Surrey and Borders NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their Rostering Team on a temporary, bank basis for a period of 3 to 6 months (ASAP start date). In this key support role, you will provide first-line assistance for electronic rostering across the Trust under the Agenda for Change (AfC) framework.Whilst the role will be primarily based at Surrey and Borders NHS Foundation Trust, flexibility to travel to Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust as required is essential.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver first-line support to ensure effective use of electronic rostering across the Trust.
Provide training and ongoing support to Trust Managers and staff to ensure they can use their rosters efficiently.
Assist in database administration, including processing changes, starters, and leavers.
Use advanced Microsoft Excel skills to run and analyse reports.
This role offers an opportunity for candidates who may not yet possess the full skillset at a Band 5, as we are open to considering applicants with varying levels of experience at a lower band.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- To co-ordinate the ongoing development of the Rostering system including setting up the system rules for individual rosters, conducting workshops and 1:1 sessions with ward managers on the wards to gather data and gain the tacit knowledge they have accumulated in their experience of producing rosters in order to enter this on to the database.
- To produce training materials and ensure all users of the system are appropriately trained, conducting training sessions and providing 1^st level helpdesk support.
- To provide day to day support for the staff and ensure appropriate investigation of any errors/dysfunction including verifying the applicability of rules and restrictions and analysis of staff working restrictions and the impact they have on the roster.
- To provide advice on rostering policy and its implementation, suggest changes to the policy as appropriate.
- Undertake such duties as may be required to ensure that the system is fully incorporated within the ward/department. Analysis of complex problems that occur with the users / software and rectification of the issue/s, and seeking support for very complex issues.
- To compile advice to Heads of Nursing, Matrons, Ward Managers and their deputies on unachievable rosters.
