The role
  • Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse perpetrators using an evidence-based risk identification checklist, ensuring the welfare and safety of victims and their children.
  • Manage your case load, making sure each perpetrator referred receives the appropriate service that fits their individual needs.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework including MARAC, the police, health professionals, child protection, housing practitioners and other voluntary and statutory specialists.
  • Co-facilitate a two-day course on domestic abuse awareness to highlight its impact on victims and children.
  • Work in partnership, with the Integrated Support Service, making sure all necessary processes are carried out to maintain the safety of the victim and survivor.
  • Actively contribute to and engage in activities to secure the service's external accreditation and re-accreditation, ensuring that all standards are consistently met.
  • Monitor work to align with service needs.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings to evaluate the project’s success.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and ongoing personal development for safe practice.
What they’re looking for
  • A good level of education including GCSE English and maths, or equivalent.
  • A recognised qualification in health and social care, or relevant experience.
  • Experience of working with men on violence and abuse towards women in health, social care, education, or a probation setting.
  • Experience with motivational interviewing,
  • Experience with cognitive behavioural therapy.
  • Experience of handing personal data in line with GDPR.
  • An understanding of why some men use abusive behaviours and methods to address it.
  • Knowledge of risk factors in domestic violence perpetrators.
  • Understanding of public protection, MARAC, MAPPA, and MATAC processes.
  • Knowledge of professional boundaries and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Able to handle conflict positively.
  • A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle suitable for businesses use.
  • Enhanced DBS check needed.
