If so, we are seeking hardworking individuals to join our friendly and diverse team as Imaging Assistants in the MRI Department at Nottingham University Hospitals.

As an Imaging Assistant, you will perform caring activities such as greeting patients, preparing them for their examinations, ensuring patients' needs and privacy and dignity are met and assisting the clinical team to deliver a professional and high standard of care.

You will work across the QMC and City campuses, with occasional work in other units on site.

You will join a large department consisting of 5 modalities; CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology. We collectively image around 400,000 patients a year and play a key role in the journey of the majority of patients who visit our Hospitals.

Despite the size of the department, we are proud that there is a real sense of community within Radiology and our teams are excited to welcome new staff.

We are looking for candidates who are approachable and enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as you will be required to deal with patients who may be anxious or unwell.

Previous healthcare experience is not essential but desirable and we will provide a full induction and training to carry out your duties.

The post will involve shift work, which will comprise of long days and weekend working.

Your main duties will be to provide clinical support to assist in the smooth running of the MRI Department. Your focus will be to ensure that patient’s needs and welfare are attended to and that their visit to the radiology department is efficient and coordinated.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust employs round 18,000 staff and is one of the largest Trusts in the Midlands. We deliver care across 3 main sites; QMC (and the Treatment Centre), City Hospital and Ropewalk House. We are a Major Trauma Centre and also a Regional Tertiary destination for number of specialised Cancer services and deliver patient care to around 5.5million people across the region.

The Radiology Department supports all services within the Trust and spans across Queens Medical Centre, City Hospital and the Treatment Centre. In order to meet the demands of these services, we currently have 25 X-Ray rooms, 7 MRI Scanners, 7 CT Scanners, 27 Ultrasound machines and 5 Interventional Radiology suites with further plans to redevelop and expand these areas.

You will be trained to work safely when caring for patients, their carers and other visitors. It is important to promote both Radiology and the Trust and rise to the challenges that occur. You are responsible for safety, raising concerns when necessary, ensuring that you are working safely and within your level of ability and responsibility.

You are expected to work closely with Radiographers, Imaging Assistants, Administration Booking team as well as nursing and medical teams both in Radiology as well as across the Trust.
