Job Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) lessons to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in a supportive and inclusive manner
- Assess students' language proficiency levels and provide appropriate support and feedback
- Develop tailored lesson plans and teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of UASC learners
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to create a conducive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements
Required Qualifications:
- CELTA or equivalent ESOL teaching qualification
- Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people
- Strong understanding of ESOL teaching methodologies and best practises
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESOL to diverse student populations
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of UK educational policies and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of UASC learners
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- PGCE in ESOL or related field
- Experience working in a multicultural educational setting
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
