Job Title: UASC ESOL Tutor

Location:

East of England, Suffolk, Barking

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

Plan and deliver engaging ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) lessons to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in a supportive and inclusive manner
Assess students' language proficiency levels and provide appropriate support and feedback
Develop tailored lesson plans and teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of UASC learners
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to create a conducive learning environment
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements

Required Qualifications:

CELTA or equivalent ESOL teaching qualification
Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people
Strong understanding of ESOL teaching methodologies and best practises
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESOL to diverse student populations

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of UK educational policies and safeguarding procedures
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of UASC learners
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

PGCE in ESOL or related field
Experience working in a multicultural educational setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
