Job Title: UASC ESOL Tutor

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for UASC students
  • Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure the holistic development of UASC students
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and any concerns

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or equivalent
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practises in supporting UASC

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching ESOL to diverse learner groups

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Strong understanding of UASC challenges and resilience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in TESL or related field
  • Experience in delivering trauma-informed teaching practises

Working Conditions:

This role involves working with vulnerable young people in an educational setting. The successful candidate will undergo relevant background checks and training to ensure the safety and well-being of UASC students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
