Job Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC)
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for UASC students
- Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure the holistic development of UASC students
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and any concerns
Required Qualifications:
- Recognised qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or equivalent
- Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practises in supporting UASC
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching ESOL to diverse learner groups
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong understanding of UASC challenges and resilience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in TESL or related field
- Experience in delivering trauma-informed teaching practises
Working Conditions:
This role involves working with vulnerable young people in an educational setting. The successful candidate will undergo relevant background checks and training to ensure the safety and well-being of UASC students.
