We have the opportunity for someone to join our team part time for 3 days (22.5 hours) per week. The Paediatric Dietetic team at Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced dietitian who is looking to develop their skills.

These will be mainly covering general paediatric in and outpatients but there are also lots of opportunities to experience the many specialist areas we cover.

We are a friendly and supportive team of 25 highly regarded paediatric dietitians and dietetic assistants who are integral members of numerous MDTs. We provide both inpatient and outpatient services. The team input into many specialist areas including NICU, SCBU, PICU, Ketogenics, Gastroenterology, Obesity, Oncology, Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes, Allergy, HEF, Eating Disorders, HPN as well as general paediatric cover.

In your role you will be supported and supervised by a Band 7 Paediatric Dietitian to learn general paediatrics as both in and out patients with the opportunity to also work alongside other dietitians within specialities.

As a team we are committed to training and development. We facilitate this through a variety of ways including regular CPD sessions, shadowing opportunities, tutorials, specialist areas skill passports, and clinical supervision. We also take an active role in student training alongside the wider dietetic department.

Main duties of the job

To act as part of the dietetic team and in conjunction with existing paediatric dietitians provide specialist dietetic services to the Addenbrooke’s Children’s Services and other external agencies and hospitals as appropriate.

To work within a multi professional framework and contribute to a first class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit. To set and work toward individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • State registered dietitian
  • Appropriate degree/diploma to post graduate level such as Diploma in Advanced Dietetic practice or equivalent level of knowledge or experience.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable criteria
  • Training/further study
  • BDA Paediatric Group Member
  • Working towards Masters in Paediatric Practice

Experience

  • Demonstrate good general experience
  • Genuine interest in paediatrics
  • Proven development work
