Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Booking Office in Children’s Services East.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person, who will provide accurate and effective administrative support, for Children and Young People in the East area.
The candidate will ideally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the services provided by the Childrens services and have a clear understanding of waiting list principles, or have previous knowledge and experience using WPAS for waiting lists and Refer to Treatment pathways (RTT).The successful candidate will be well – organised, self-motivated and able to work well as a member of a busy team.
Main duties of the job
To provide an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective appointment booking service.
To be part of a cohesive and integrated admin function to the service. Provide ‘first point of access’ administration for all referrals into the Children’s Booking Centre. Act as first point of contact for all enquiries and referrals into the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- GCSE standard in English and Maths
- Evidence of continuous/ ongoing learning
- Formal Secretarial Qualification
- ECDL qualified
Experience
Essential criteria- Previous experience in booking, secretarial or reception role
- Waiting List experience
- Previous NHS experience
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE including those physical skills necessary for the post.
Essential criteria- Excellent working knowledge of Patient Administration Systems
- Able to use Word/Excel/ SharePoint/Email/Outlook
- Able to manage paper/ electronic diaries effectively
- Good clerical and prioritising skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of WPAS, Previous customer service contact
- Experience in all office procedures within an NHS environment
- Welsh speaker Level 3-5
