Role Summary:
As a Sensory Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have sensory processing challenges, helping them to feel comfortable and focused in the classroom. You’ll support their learning and development through tailored strategies, working with teachers and support staff to create a safe, engaging, and sensory-friendly learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one and group support for students with sensory needs
- Implementing sensory strategies and tools within the classroom
- Collaborating with teaching staff to create individualized support plans
- Helping students develop sensory regulation skills
- Encouraging students to develop positive self-regulation and independence
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in supporting students with sensory needs or additional needs
- Patient, understanding, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or SEN (preferred)
- Access to a range of CPD courses to enhance your skills
- Support from a dedicated consultant
