Cory is planning to invest more than £900 million in its operations and river infrastructure over the coming years. This includes the Riverside 2 energy from waste facility which is currently being built next to the company's existing energy from waste facility in Belvedere.
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Communications Manager, a new position based at Cory’s Head Office at Dominion Street, near Moorgate in central London. As Cory’s Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of Cory’s internal and external communication channels, including media engagement, digital communications, and social media.You will also support the Head of Communications and Public Affairs (HCPA) on engagement with policy areas relevant to the sector and other communications initiatives.
Principal responsibilities include:
- Developing and curating content for Cory’s communication channels, including the Cory intranet, Cory internal newsletter, external customer and stakeholder newsletters, and Linked In.
- Actively seeking out stories from HCPA and key internal stakeholders for use across our group functions channels, to help deepen connections with our employees and customers.
- Developing and distributing media materials around relevant corporate announcements, and building relationships with key sector and national journalists.
- Supporting the HCPA with the planning and delivery of events whether internal corporate updates or external events which Cory is participating in, including content creation, event logistics, delegate management and post event assessments.
- Supporting with the production and management of brand assets to ensure consistency and clarity of materials across the business.
- Monitoring the media and political landscape and support with responses where necessary, such as drafting consultation responses, responding to media requests and keeping internal stakeholders updated.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in a Communications, Stakeholder Management, or Public Relations role.
- Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to disseminate complex business information into compelling, engaging, and easy-to-understand messages.
- A creative and inquisitive mind, positivity, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic.
- Experience using Microsoft applications, including Share Point.
- Experience crafting and promoting engaging social media content, particularly for Linked In.
- Experience engaging with policy development and political stakeholders would be a plus.
