Graduate Cover Supervisor/ Substitute Teacher

About the Role:
As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you’ll lead classrooms across Key Stage 3 and 4, delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of regular teachers. You don’t need prior teaching experience to succeed in this role, just strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to manage a classroom environment effectively.This position will allow you to build leadership skills, learn classroom management techniques, and engage with young learners across a range of subjects and abilities.
Whether you’re considering a career in teaching, education administration, social work, or another field, this role will help you develop valuable skills in communication, adaptability, and problem-solving. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with students, helping to support their learning and development in a meaningful way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons across various subjects to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
- Creating a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere, managing student behaviour, and maintaining a supportive learning environment.
- Encouraging student participation and facilitating understanding of lesson material.
- Following school policies on behaviour and learning to maintain a respectful and organized classroom.
Position Details:
- Start date: November 2024.
- Full-time and part-time roles available based on your availability.
- Suitable for graduates from any field of study, unqualified teachers, and experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) ready to expand their skills.
