About the Role
Our client, a vibrant coeducational all-through school and sixth form based in Chatteris, is looking to appoint a committed and passionate Teacher of English to join their experienced and forward-thinking team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated English specialist to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic success and love for literature and language.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, supporting students in developing strong communication skills and achieving excellent outcomes at GCSE and A-Level.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver inspiring English lessons aligned with national curriculum and exam board requirements
- Teach across a range of abilities and year groups, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
- Foster a love for reading, writing, and spoken language
- Contribute to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and whole-school literacy initiatives
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, QTS/QLTS, or equivalent)
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related subject
- Experience teaching English at secondary or sixth form level
- Strong understanding of the GCSE and A-Level English curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A commitment to high standards and continuous professional development
