The Director of Education and Organisational Development (OD) role is a leadershipposition in the Trust, reporting directly to our Chief People Officer. This is a broad strategic role, with significant Board exposure and responsibility for the design and delivery of a strategic plan for Culture and Leadership development and the implementation of a new Learning and Education Strategy.

We are focused on improving employee health, wellbeing and experience through a progressive organisation development programme that enables a culture of compassionate leadership, employee engagement and psychological safety. Joining us as we make significant progress on our ambitious transformation journey, this role will ensure that we create a great place to work and learn; aligned to our commitment to ‘People First’.

We are seeking a creative and inclusive leader with senior OD experience gained in large and complex organisations and a passion to bring together teams as we create a strategic approach to OD and Education that will optimise the potential of our colleagues.
Creating a culture of continuous growth and long-term commitment, you will enable our workforce to thrive in the face of future service demands and as we seek to reduce health inequalities within our populations. A visionary leader, you will devise an agile and innovative strategic approach to delivering accessible and impactful professional learning and cultural development opportunities across a dedicated, diverse and multi-professional workforce.

NHS experience would be valuable, but we are keen to hear from those who have a track record of delivering world class OD solutions in large, complex, customer focused environments. Most of all you will share our values, commitment and ambition to shape high quality and sustainable health and care services for the future.

Every day, our teams at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) make a difference. With more than 20,000 colleagues, we are the largest employer in Nottinghamshire and one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving more than 2.5m residents of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and a further four million people across the East Midlands and beyond.

Our Trust spans over three sites including Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House.

We provide a range of national and internationally renowned specialist services, and we are at the forefront of new surgical procedures and research programmes.

As a teaching hospital, we are instrumental in the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. We are proud of our strong relationships with universities across the East Midlands, including the University of Nottingham, Nottingham Trent University and Loughborough University.
