The purpose of the role is to support Operational teams across both Basingstoke and Clapham sites by providing comprehensive HR guidance and coaching to Managers, to drive employee performance & engagement. This role is also responsible for working with the HR Business Partner to manage and administer the full employee lifecycle and the end-to-end HR and payroll administration cycle, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of HR and payroll.

They will be transitioning to a new HR and payroll system over the coming months, and therefore they are also looking for someone experienced to play a key role in this.

Key responsibilities

Advisory Support & Employee Relations
  • Provide expert advice and support to managers and employees on all employee relations matters, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, performance management, & absence management
  • Regularly review and develop Company policies and procedures to keep them relevant and effective
  • Support performance management including objective setting and the performance review process
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyse feedback, and provide insights for improving employee retention
HR Administration and Payroll
  • Work with the HR Business Partner to ensure the seamless execution of HR and payroll operations, playing a key role in maintaining accurate HR systems, issuing contracts, & benefits administration
  • Guide and support managers with the end to end recruitment process including job postings, shortlisting, and coordinating interviews
  • Prepare reports and analytics related to HR metrics (e.g., absence rates, turnover, & headcount) to inform decision-making
  • Play a key role in the implementation of a new HR and payroll system, ensuring it meets business needs and is implemented smoothly
Relationships and Support
  • Build strong, positive relationships with managers and employees
  • Support the onboarding and induction process to ensure new employees are welcomed & integrated well
  • Work with the HR Business Partner to develop and run effective management training
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including their ongoing commitment to their Investors In People (IIP) accreditation, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and culture.
About you
  • Experience within a generalist HR role with a proven track record of advising managers on all things people & policies
  • Experience of working on a HR & payroll system change is an advantage
  • Possesses a good understanding of current employment law and HR best practice
  • Technically skilled with HR and payroll systems and Microsoft tools
  • Open, confident and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement and initiative
  • Able to manage competing priorities and a number of projects simultaneously
  • Natural relationship builder with high levels of trust and integrity
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • CIPD qualification (or studying towards) is an advantage
