Volunteer Recovery Support
Overview:
Making the decision to enter treatment can be an intimidating experience for the people we support. You can make a difference.
As a Recovery Support Volunteer with Change Grow Live you’ll work with people who use our services, helping them get to where they want to be.
Responsibilities:
With this role you’ll be working as part of the south east recovery team, based in Newtoft street.
The team supports people with their drug and/or alcohol issues.
No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.
We will support you in this volunteering role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have someone on site who you can approach for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.
This is what one of our Volunteer Support Worker had to say: “I had a great experience with CGL. I was originally accessing my local service and through the support of my worker and coming off the substances, I was able to get involved with volunteering which then motivated me to learn more and eventually I was lucky to get a paid role”.
Our values are to be compassionate, open and bold. If this sounds like you we’d love to hear from you so click apply.
