We are looking for a new band 7 Dietetic Clinical Team Leader Dietitian for Diabetes.

This is full time post but we are happy to accept application for staff wishing to work part time.

The post holder would be expected to provide Dietetic care for complex Diabetes patients within the Diabetes service and managed the Dietetic Diabetes and Weight Management Team with the support of fellow Dietetic Clinical Team Leader who specialises in weight management.

The post holder will combine a management/leadership role alongside a specialist clinical role.

The post holder would be expected to clinically supervise band 6 Specialist Dietitians as well as band 5 Rotational Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants .

They would also be expected to continually develop and evolve the Diabetes and Weight Management Dietetic team as well as lead on Diabetes Dietetics for the Trust providing guidance, training and policies as required. They would also be expected to support the wider Dietetic management team.

Clinically the post holder would be expected to manage a caseload of complex Diabetes patients including the management of patients on insulin pumps.

The successful post holder will be part of the Diabetes and Weight Management Dietetic team The team consists of 2 x Band 7 (Team Leads), 3 x Band 6 Specialist Dietitians ( 2 for Diabetes and 1 for weight managment, 1 x Band 5 (rotational) and 1 x band 3 Dietetic assistant.

The post holder would be primarily based at Royal Blackburn Hospital but would be expected to work across all East Lancashire Dietetic localities

The Diabetes Dietetic team work closely with their colleagues in the Diabetes Service.

The Diabetes and Weight Management team is a part of the wider Dietetic Department. The Department has 90 Staff of which 45 are Dietitians and is well supported with Dietetic Assistants , Assistant Practitioners and admin staff. The department uses the electronic patient record system EMIS for outpatients and Cerner for inpatients.

The department offers student training to A,B and C placements and Dietitian Apprenticeships therefore the post holder will be expected to be involved in clinical teaching and assessment of students on their placement so therefore previous student training experience is desirable.

East Lancashire is a teaching hospital so the post holder would also be expected to contribute to Medical and other health care professional training as well.

East Lancashire has good transport links to Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and beyond and we are close to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

The post holder would be expected to work across the sites and localities of East Lancashire so the post would suit a car driver/owner.
