With ambitious growth plans and a mission to redefine procurement in the construction industry, we are expanding our team and looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive new business opportunities, develop strategic relationships, and secure multi-year SaaS contracts.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, your primary focus is new business development, targeting main contractors in our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) (£20 million to £100 million turnover) and Tier-1 contractors (£100 million+ turnover).
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and working closely with our Sales Development Representative and marketing teams, you will generate, qualify, and close opportunities, progressing prospects from discovery calls through to signed agreements.This is a high-impact sales role that requires strategic account planning, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for construction technology.
What You’ll Be Doing- Responsible for achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets by selling C-Link to new customers.
- Build and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline of 3-5x annual target, ensuring a strong mix of ICP and Tier-1 opportunities.
- Identify and engage potential clients via cold calling, networking, LinkedIn, industry events, and inbound marketing channels.
- Conduct detailed qualification using a structured methodology to ensure prospects align with our ideal customer profile.
- Manage deals from discovery to close, including running demos, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
- Develop strategic account plans to land and expand within key target accounts.
- CRM & Forecasting – Maintain accurate pipeline tracking in HubSpot CRM, ensuring weekly forecasting and KPI reporting.
- Work closely with SDRs, marketing, and product teams to refine sales strategies and improve conversion rates.
- Represent C-Link at construction events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities to strengthen our market presence.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally in SaaS, construction, or technology-related industries.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills – confident engaging with senior decision-makers.
- Resilience and drive – ability to work autonomously and consistently meet targets.
- Structured sales approach – experience using qualification frameworks such as MEDDIC, SPIN, or BANT.
- Strong commercial acumen – ability to develop tailored solutions that address client needs.
- A proactive and strategic mindset – able to build account plans and execute sales strategies effectively.
- Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and sales tech tools.
