Research Assistant - Developmental and Complex Trauma

12 Month fixed term contract (Maternity Cover)

Location: Northampton
Salary: £26,586 - £29,458 per annum, pro rata (Depending on Experience)

Part time: 15 hours per week

Purpose of the Role

The post holder’s primary role will be to support the development, delivery and promotion of the research activities of the CDCT. This includes supporting the identification, development, delivery and dissemination of service evaluation, service development and research projects.

In addition, to support direct clinical activities related to the delivery of clinical initiatives associated with the CDCT, and to support the running of CDCT, especially our specialist trauma network events.

The post will also include assisting in the relationship building and promotional activities of the CDCT, both internally and externally.

Required skills, qualifications and experience
  • Upper second class honours degree or higher in Psychology
  • Eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist or Research Assistant, including in an honorary capacity.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently, and show resilience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong motivation and drive to succeed, and enthusiasm for driving forward the agenda for trauma and trauma-informed care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including ability to confidently present results of assessments at review and other meetings
  • Demonstrates an awareness and interest working with people who have experienced trauma, and of trauma-informed care
  • Demonstrates an awareness of equality issues and commitments to the aims and objectives of the policy in employment and patient care
  • Demonstrates an awareness of intersectionality and its impact on trauma
  • Scientific writing skills and the ability to produce quality professional documents with a high standard of writing skills
  • Resilience when faced with intellectual challenges
  • Experiences conducting literature searches and reviews
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, SPSS,
  • Working knowledge of R studio, including setting up databases, performing and interpreting analyses
