Are you looking to progress your career and be at the forefront of change?

Mid Bedfordshire Community Health Services are looking for a full time band 6 Occupational Therapist to be part of the Community Occupational Therapy service within the Primary Care Home Team. We are a 7 day service 8am-9pm.

You will need to be an experienced therapist to act as a source of expert advice, focused on achieving real improvements in outcomes for patients and confident in your ability to support, coach and develop individuals and teams to deliver consistently high quality services.

You will work closely alongside all members of the therapy team: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Rehabilitation Support Workers, as well as a wider multi-disciplinary workforce across Bedfordshire. You will build close links with the professionals and services required to wrap around the needs of each individual to provide a holistic approach.

You will need to be innovative, forward thinking, self-driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Take pride in your work, be highly motivated and dynamic, have a flexible approach and be able to embrace change. Being a collaborative worker, with the ability to network and build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders will be essential.

As a band 7 Clinical Lead, you will deputise for the Therapy Team Lead, oversee the clinical decision making and performance of the team, line manage and supervise qualified members of staff within the team, supporting them to provide an excellent level of service to the population of Mid Bedfordshire.

There is also an expectation to support student placements and mentoring for university apprenticeships.

Occupational Therapists play a key role in shaping and developing the service provided and with this there will be opportunities to develop the role and service in a collaborative approach with Social Care colleagues and the acute settings.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Please kindly refer to the job description and person specification attached to this vacancy

All applicants need to hold a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC as well as holding leadership experience with team management skills.
