Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person with administrative skills and knowledge and excellent people skills to join our small admin team supporting our Adult's Speech and Language Therapy Service across the Health Board.

This post will be working on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will carry out a range of admin duties including ordering / contacting patients / patient's families / carers and a range of professionals, booking appointments as well as using the Health Board electronic systems, to enable the smooth running of the busy, friendly department.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • RSA III typing or equivalent skills, training and experience
  • Understanding of confidentiality
Desirable criteria
  • Trained in Welsh PAS (Myrddin)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in working in a busy customer focused environment.
  • Experience of solving problems and dealing with challenging customers/clients.
  • Experience of using databases and spreadsheets to collect, record and retrieve data/information
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
  • Experience of using ORACLE Financial Management System
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised with excellent time management skills
  • Manages sensitive information
  • Advanced keyboard skills with familiarity of Microsoft Office eg. Word, Outlook, Excel
Desirable criteria
  • The ability to speak or learn Welsh to a satisfactory level
