This vacancy is for a one year fixed term contract and is based at the Manor Hospital Walsall.
To undertake designated procurement activity, including investigative projects and the conduct of competitive quotation and tender exercises.
Liaises with Senior Trust Officers, Procurement and Supply Chain Staff, Trust requestioner', Clinicians, budget holders, Suppliers, Collaborative Procurement Hub, NHS Supply Chain (NHSSC), Department of Health, Internal and External Audit.
Main duties of the job
The Support Buyer will lead and support on the Procurement of several commodities, within the Non Medical Procurement team based at Walsall Reporting into the Senior strategic Procurement Manager – Non Medical within the North Midland and Black Country Procurement Procurement Department based at Walsall.This post will be integral in supporting the Department in the delivery of the Trust's Procurement objectives. Responsible for the management of specific categories within the Procurement portfolio to meet the needs of the Trust's strategy, customer base requirements, maximize value for money whilst ensuring compliance with EU Procurement Legislation, UK Law and the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
Please note that this role is based at The Manor Hospital NHS Trust but there will be a requirement for the successful post-holder to travel between sites in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and Wolverhampton.

Essential criteria- Qualified or willing to study to CIPS L4
- Good standard of Maths and English
- Knowledge of NHS Public Procurement
- Knowledge of MS Office applications
