Your new role:
Work in partnerships and build effective relationships with key business stakeholders in order to ensure the delivery of a robust end-to-end HR service. Managing all aspects of day-to-day HR operations, applying policies and procedures, advising managers as required.
What you'll do:
- Provide expert advice on all aspects of UK employment law to management and employees, ensuring full legal compliance in all HR practices and policies.
- Stay up to date with changes in employment legislation and advise management on any necessary updates to company policies or procedures.
- To act as first point of contact for all ER issues and advise People Leaders on end-to-end case management, in relation to grievances, disciplinaries, redundancies, and terminations, ensuring adherence to legal and company requirements.
- Support People leaders in managing end to end absence and performance related cases with a strong focus on wellbeing and best practice.
- Ensure regular presence in regional locations and willingness to travel.
- Proactively identify and address key business-related HR issues through reporting and liaison with the regional businesses, and develop strong, collaborative relationships with the People & Culture team to suggest Group wide solutions or interventions.
- Challenge decisions or actions that are not in the best interests of the employee or the business, ensuring compliance with HR policies, legal obligations, and fairness.
- Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted advisor to line managers and Senior management teams on HR-related matters, offering practical solutions and support for employee relations issues.
- Coaching, advising (and in some instances educating) our People Leaders on the full spectrum of people related / employee relations matters ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
- Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of each business region and how they operate and use people data insights to produce reports on a regular basis on such topics as employee engagement, sickness absence, turnover, analysing trends and highlighting improvement opportunities to business stakeholders, and the People & Culture team.
- Support People Partner in preparations required for tribunal cases.
- Deputise for the People Partner and represent the HR department at relevant business meetings, acting as an advocate for HR best practice and instilling the key principles of the Robertson People Strategy.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports for business leaders across the Group ensuring these meet the requirements of the business and review on a regular basis.
- Proactively manage a demanding workload, ensuring deadlines are met, and work is completed to a high standard.
- Liaise with the Employee Experience team where there is a requirement for development in HR processes, to ensure a Group wide approach to maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
What you'll need:
- Level 5 CIPD preferred but not essential
- Strong understanding of UK employment legislations and experience in handling employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and managing grievances.
- Experience in performance management processes, including coaching managers
- Proactive approach, with a willingness to take initiative and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to prioritise tasks, manage demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
About you:
You'll have worked in a similar role previously at this level, being able to demonstrate good technical experience and you'll have strong working knowledge and application of UK employment law and of handling complex employee relations casework working as a HR Advisor.A willingness to travel to our regional offices in England is essential along with the drive and motivation to continuously develop your skills and experience in role. You’ll support the People Partner in the region but will manage the ER caseload directly so you’ll need to be able to work at pace managing multiple cases.
