The role requires the ability to effectively collaborate with the different departments and teams across PIC to secure their buy-in to design and implement people related activities that support PIC’s purpose of paying the pensions of our current and future policy holders.

To support the HR Business Partnering team deliver positive outcomes for the Company in relation to the people strategy on a consistent basis.

Specific accountabilities assigned to the role of HR Generalist within the HR Business Partnering team:

  • Assist the HR Business Partnering team with their people strategy flexing your style and approach to meet the needs of the designated business area.
  • Support the HR Business Partnering team with the successful delivery of People related projects to include but not limited to Strategic Workforce Planning, Talent Reviews, Succession Planning as required by the regulators, Committees and the Board.
  • Coordinate the design and delivery of bitesize training sessions and workshops by the HR Business Partnering team to the business on HR best practice, regulatory changes, talent management, employment law, and HR policies to promote a positive work environment where employees and managers feel comfortable and equipped to handle change.
  • Support with the preparation of comprehensive reports that demonstrate sound analysis and recommendations for process improvement on the different stages of the employee lifecycle.
  • Effectively collaborate with the HR Centres of Excellence in the delivery of an exceptional people related service to the business that drives our people strategy and supports the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives.
  • Takes ownership for their own learning and development in both technical (e.g. UK employment legislation and HR best practice) and non-technical (self-insight and relationship management) skills to raise the profile of HR across the Company.
  • Keeps informed of industry trends, market developments, regulatory changes in the financial services sectors, as well as best practices related to HR by attending industry seminars, reading and sharing relevant published articles.

Requirements

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of working in an HR function and/or supporting HR professionals with various people related activities. HR operations, Learning & Development and/or HR Business Partnering would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of supporting people through change would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and working within a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of the Senior Manager & Certification regime and how to embed regulatory requirements into HR processes.

Experience
  • Recognised qualification and/or accreditation to a professional body in a HR related field would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Proven track record of working within an HR function in one or more of the centres of excellence would be an advantage
  • Experience of supporting HR professionals with change or people related activities would be an advantage.
  • Experience of supporting HR professionals in the delivery of people related projects successfully, on time and within budget.
