Room Lead

Full time - permanent

Monday - Friday 40 hours per week

Small People are seeking to appoint a qualified Room Leader to work 40 hours per week in our outdoor provision. You will need a level 3 childcare qualification and have previous experience. This beautiful purpose-built nursery, rated Good by Ofsted (March 2022), is set within a converted barn complex, boasting fully air-conditioned rooms, an all-weather outdoor play area and onsite forest school facilities, overlooking a picturesque landscape.

We are passionate about providing rich, varied and spontaneous experiences which actively engage our children. Small People offers an exciting open air learning environment where children have the freedom to explore, be physically active, use all of their senses and develop a sense of adventure.

This position would suit an experienced Nursery Practitioner who has previously worked in a similar environment caring for children aged between 0 – 5 years and is looking for an exciting career opportunity and likes being outdoors.

About our Room Manager role
  • To assist management in providing the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children, and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents.
  • To work closely with the staff members in ensuring a smooth running of the daily routine.
  • To contribute ideas to planning ensuring the children receive high quality of learning and development.
  • To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific needs and requirements.
  • To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
  • To adhere to all Nursery policies and procedures
  • To always meet health and safety and environmental health requirements

Essential Criteria - Qualifications/Experience:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification - Essential
  • Over 1 year's experience working in Early Years - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
  • Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
  • Fluent in written and spoke to English - Essential
