Senior Sales Executive

Our client a leading provider in the Freight Forwarding and Transportation industry are looking for a Senior Sales Executive to join their team selling all modes of freight.

This is a remote position with occasional visits to either their Basildon or London Heathrow office when required.

Key roles and responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of Sales in the execution of their duties in support of the Managing Director’s vision of the Company to become more competitive and profitable.
  • Understand and execute the departments vision of good business development to sell the company services.
  • To support the Head of Sales in implementing strategy, activity and reporting whenever required.
  • To support the Head of Sales with specific tasks centred on our efforts in the South.
  • To provide guidance and help to the sales team, in the absence of the Head of Sales.
  • Sell services at the best possible price by calling, meeting, and building a portfolio of clients contributing to company growth in conjunction with targets and KPI’s.
  • Ensure minimal risk is undertaken when negotiating new deals and contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Sell services by meeting customers offsite at least 3 days per week.
  • Increase sales in line with targets and KPI’s.
  • Report and record sales pipeline activities.
  • Prepare reports for prospects and pipeline profitability.
  • Carry out due diligence checks in respect of new customers.

Skills, experience and competencies:

Personal
  • Proven and extensive track record in Sales, with experience of meeting or exceeding sales targets (ideally within the same or similar industry).
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving sales targets and driving new business.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Highly persistent, resilient and adaptable.
  • Motivated self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Able to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain and nurture a strong team dynamic.
Technical competencies
  • Fully conversant with Office 365 (e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel etc).
  • Able to create comprehensive sales reports in Excel.
  • Proficient in report writing (desirable).

The role will require frequent travel across our South region, therefore a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is required.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.30pm.

Salary is £45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience + £5,000 per annum car allowance and a competitive bonus structure based on targets & company growth.
