Hays are exclusively partnered with a Glasgow-based Engineering business to recruit a Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity with a fast-changing business currently in the midst of a restructuring process. This role will be for an initial 3-month contract and will be responsible for FP&A and Business Partnering.

This is a hybrid working role for 3 days in an office at a rate of £400 per day.

Our client is looking for an experienced Qualified Finance professional to add value across the Business Partnering function and provide meaningful challenge and business review with operational stakeholders.

Your new role

Based in a commercial finance environment, the Financial Controller will support with a range of activities across the financial planning and analysis function. You will prepare and develop the annual budget, business plan and provide strategic input to the management team, utilising commercial finance knowledge and driving performance through review and challenge.

You will provide meaningful MI to support the business with decision-making and will facilitate this across multiple projects within the team in addition to maintaining financial control activities across each service line.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a driven and positive leader with an ability to improve processes and drive change as part of your approach. This is a commercial role which will involve interaction with a number of stakeholders from a non-financial background, and it is therefore essential to bring the narrative forwards amongst the numbers.

You will be a qualified accountant with a commercial finance/business partnering background, ideally working within a complex business with multiple service lines.
