As Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for: Pupil Support & Supervision: Ensure pupils’ safety, promote inclusion, and encourage independent learning by supervising classroom activities and out-of-class times (lunchtimes, trips, exams).
Assisting Teaching Staff: Help with lesson planning, resource organisation, classroom management, and the development/implementation of individual education/behaviour plans. Curriculum & Assessment Support: Aid in implementing local and national learning strategies (e.g. literacy and numeracy), use ICT effectively in lessons, and monitor/record pupils’ progress.
Safeguarding & Compliance: Uphold data protection, child safeguarding policies, and health and safety regulations in the school environment. What You’ll Bring to Futura We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant who: Educational Background: At least 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths at C or above) with a relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred). Experience: A minimum of 2 years of recent classroom support experience; additional experience with pupils with extra needs is desirable.
Skills & Behaviours: Strong communication, IT, teamwork, and organisational skills; ability to work independently, use initiative, and contribute to a collaborative teaching environment. Professional Commitment: Willingness to pursue continuous professional development, demonstrate school values, and pass an enhanced DBS check (and ideally be a qualified first aider).Passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
