Main duties of the job
The Homecare Department within the Pharmacy is responsible for the processing of all Homecare prescriptions and invoices within the trust. The post holder will work alongside the Lead Pharmacy Technician – Homecare Services to ensure this is done accurately, efficiently and in the best interests of the patient.
The post holder will need to ensure the homecare services are consistently of high quality and are in line with the Hackett good practice guidelines as well as local policies and procedures. Full training will be provided.
The post holder will be expected to spend some of their time in the pharmacy dispensary supporting wider pharmacy work.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Working at an experience level of NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent, or other specialists qualification in the area
Knowledge
Essential criteria- An understanding of the principles of stock control and management
- An understanding of NHS drug contracting and supply processes
- Knowledge of pharmacy homecare services
Experience
Essential criteria- Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy
- Experience in an environment where stock ordering and invoicing is managed
- Solid foundation of experience within pharmacy and ward environments
Skills
Essential criteria- Experienced in personal time management
- Working to deadlines and achieving objectives
- Effective communication skills and being able to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
