Job Purpose:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Auditor to join our team at Blakemore Meats. You will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and legality. This role involves performing factory-based routine audits, collecting samples for external testing, and ensuring strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and internal systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine factory audits and internal audits of processes and systems.
  • Collect samples for external testing and ensure compliance with sample plans (ATP, finished products, raw materials, water, etc.).
  • Ensure paperwork and systems are completed accurately following company procedures.
  • Act as a supervisor and trainer for the handheld Seamcor system.
  • Report on compliance across various areas, including handheld unit usage.
  • Perform pre-start-up checks and hygiene handovers.
  • Adhere to and promote Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and proper housekeeping.
  • Calibrate key equipment, conduct swabbing, raw material inspections, and CCP checks.
  • Perform allergen audits, recipe control, and product specification checks.
  • Lead product taste checks, shelf-life testing, and recipe tempering.
  • Manage and report on quarantined stock.
  • Liaise with pest control contractors and oversee pest control activities.
  • Drive personal development through training and work-based experiences.
  • Play an active role in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support and promote a culture of Food Safety, Quality, Authenticity, and Legality.
  • Uphold AFB Environmental Sustainability Strategy.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with IT systems.

Desirable:

  • Food Hygiene Certification.
  • HACCP training.
