Specialty Doctor in General Surgery

Potential applicants who are visiting the Trust are welcome to approach the Executive team through the relevant lead Executive in order to meet on the day if this can be arranged. Shortlisted applicants for consultant posts are encouraged to meet with the Chief Executive and /or Medical Director.
Main responsibilities: Experience/Training: Experience at Registrar level in General and Emergency Surgery Ability to manage common surgical emergencies including operative management Adequate experience of the speciality of General Surgery to provide effective and safe management of outpatients and elective patients Clinical Skills: Experience in the management of patients with general surgical problems.
Understanding of clinical risk management Validated logbook with summary documentation of surgical exposure Capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge & judgement & prioritise clinical need. Demonstrates appropriate technical and clinical competence and evidence of the development of diagnostic skills and clinical judgement.
