We are looking for a dedicated Secondary SEN Tutor to join our team and support students with a range of additional needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Looked After Children (LAC), and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC).

This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly, tailoring your expertise to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the individual needs of students and identify their learning goals.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, tailored sessions to secondary-aged students.
  • Support students with SEN, SEMH needs, LAC, and UASC backgrounds.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and relevant professionals to ensure consistent support.

About You:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Confidence in working with students from diverse and vulnerable backgrounds, including LAC and UASC.
  • Ability to assess learning needs and deliver structured, impactful sessions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for education and a patient, empathetic approach.

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching or tutoring experience (QTS is desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of SEN and SEMH strategies.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours to suit student needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
