Job Description- raft, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery requests, court forms, and correspondence.
- File legal documents with courts and other agencies electronically or in person, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
- Maintain and organize physical and digital case files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.
- Manage attorney calendars including court dates, client meetings, deadlines, and travel arrangements.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
- Prepare and process billing statements, time entries, and expense reports.
- Assist with trial preparation including exhibits, witness lists, and legal research as directed.
- Monitor and follow up on case progress and deadlines using case management software.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail, responding or redirecting as appropriate
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant, preferably in Family Law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
- Strong knowledge of family law procedures, terminology, and court filing systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
