Temporary Payroll Officer

Be Personnel are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Officer to manage the complete payroll process through to the end of November for our client, a large family butchery in Larbert. This position is ideally a part time position Monday-Wednesday however full time applications will definitely be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage the entire payroll process from data entry to payment distribution. This includes processing new hires, terminations, salary changes, and adjustments.

Tax Calculations: Accurately calculate and deduct taxes, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and other statutory deductions.
Pension Administration: Administer employee pension contributions, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with pension schemes.
Sick Pay & Statutory Payments: Calculate and process Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), and other statutory payments in accordance with current regulations.
Holiday Pay: Accurately calculate holiday entitlement and payments, ensuring compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
Wages & Payments: Arrange and verify payments to employees, including direct deposits and any other methods of remuneration.
Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries to management and relevant departments. Ensure all payroll records are accurate and up-to-date.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
Payroll Inquiries: Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or issues from employees in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes, including calculations and payments.

Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax laws, and statutory regulations.

Experience with SAGE Payroll Software: Preferable experience using SAGE

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of addressing employee inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
