Role Summary

At Seashell we are proud to be providing care and education for children and young people with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment and communication disorders and autism.

As a Specialist Teacher at Seashell you will become a part of our outstanding school team and work as a specialist teacher for a class no bigger than 6 students. Students in Manchester Royal School are aged between 4 and 19, and all follow an individual Seashell curriculum.

You will have access to an exceptional training package that will support you in developing your already impressive specialist SEN teaching experience and will work as part of an empowering, supportive and innovative school team. You will be responsible for a group of students and be the line manager for a number of Teaching Assistants.

  • The skills to help complex SEN students succeed following a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • A SEN Teacher with an aspirational approach to learning where successful small steps lead to positive outcomes.

  • Specialist MQ/Masters equivalent qualifications (MSI/VI/HI/TOD/Autism)
  • British Sign Language or Makaton or signalong experience is highly desirable.

Our benefits

You will have access to wide range of benefits including: Teacher pension scheme, life assurance, employee assistance and wellbeing programmes, on site gym, private medical, long service awards, employee engagement forum, free parking and a beautiful campus with fantastic facilities all on one site.

We offer great career development, and with a strong, supportive L&D team based on site, you will have access to a wide range of training courses designed to support your specialist SEN development throughout your teaching career.
