An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dedicated dispensary and clinical services team. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about patient care and committed to a providing good quality service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in the Trust’s technician-led dispensary experiencing all aspects of in-patient and out-patient dispensing and stock ordering. They will support medicines management to a group of inpatient wards; completing medicines reconciliation, checking patients own drugs and working with patients to optimise their medicines.

Essential criteria- Demonstrates continued professional development or equivalent knowledge through experience
- Excellent physical fitness and good general health
- Flexibility in working hours to suit the needs of the department
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Accredited Checking Technician
- Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (NVQ) or equivalent qualification.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Knowledge and understanding of Pharmaceutical technical procedures specific to the area of work
- Knowledge of Medicines Management
Skills
Essential criteria- Computer literate
- Demonstrable attention to detail
- Good team working skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Numeracy skills
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working in a similar role
- Significant experience of pharmacy service delivery post qualification acquired through NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC equivalent level qualification plus specialist training and experience to degree or equivalent level.
- Experience of supervising staff including basic HR advice
- Experience of working as a medicines optimisation technician
