Job overview
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, ambitious, kind and enthusiastic midwife to join our Antenatal Clinic team with an inteerst in Diabetes. A midwife who is passionate about providing high quality care to our high risk population .The applicant will be working within our diabetic team to support the Diabetes service.
As a trust, we care for approximately 6000 births every year and cover a very diverse population. This is an exciting opportunity for a band 6 midwife who is passionate about making a difference to join our team of highly skilled midwives in maternity.
We want to help you develop and enhance your skills and maximise your potential in all aspects of Antenatal Care. We actively encourage staff development and have a fantastic clinical education team to provide our in house, multidisciplinary professional development training.We have excellent links with local universities for post registration development.
This post requires UK NMC qualification, which is gained after completion of OSCE, please do not apply if you have not done this.
Main duties of the job
Our Antenatal Clinic provides a high standard of Antenatal Care to a diverse population of High Risk women . Alongside the specialist Consultant clinics , our Midwives run a variety of midwife led clinics including BMI , Pre Operative , Out of Area bookings, VBAC, and vaccinations
As well as working within the midwife led clinics the successful applicant will assist with coordinating the day to day running of the Antenatal clinic including follow up of defaulters,, ordering of pharmacy stock and maintaining ward assurances .
The successful applicant will also participate in the supervision and assessment of student midwives and maternity support workers

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registered Midwife on part 2 of the NMC professional register
- Degree/diploma relevant to speciality
- Mentor/assessor training or willing to work towards
- NIPE Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria- Evidence of post registration experience in continuous clinical practice
- Successfully completed a preceptorship programme
- Evidence of working in all areas of midwifery
