Are you experienced in managing finance, budget allocations, and reporting activities for a large, geographically dispersed organisation?

Do you enjoy gathering and interpreting complex data from various stakeholders, providing evidence-based information, and articulating it into a finance, risk, and performance narrative?

Would you relish the opportunity to lead a high-performing team focused on developing and delivering finance plans and management information for the Capability, Learning and Talent Directorate?

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the Department's Capability, Learning and Talent Directorate (CLT), part of the DWP People and Capability Group. We are looking to fill the Finance and Reporting Leader role.

CLT delivers learning and capability solutions for around 80,000 colleagues, enabling DWP to deliver a quality service and supporting DWP’s ambition to be a flexible, skilled, and continuously learning organisation. CLT is a supportive and inclusive team, and we are at the forefront of driving the DWP capability and people strategies.

The post holder will be joining an energetic and vibrant team, which plays a vital role in managing and assuring deliverability of CLT budgets, analysis and production of a wide range of CLT performance data and risk management for Learning, Design and Delivery (LDD) team.

This is a challenging and exciting role in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, working with senior colleagues in the organisation.

The Finance and Reporting Leader uses comprehensive budgetary analysis to identify current spending patterns, working with stakeholders to understand business needs and how this aligns with departmental strategic priorities. From this they will ensure complex data insights and models are represented clearly and concisely in reports, briefs and management information for senior leadership.

This will establish a clear evidence-based rationale for a fiscal ask, which they will lead. Upon receipt, the post holder will manage budgetary allocation and ensure compliance, engaging stakeholders while providing challenge and accountability as appropriate, leading risk management within the team and maintaining a robust evaluative approach.

They will lead the production of the Directorate management information dashboard, working with stakeholders to gather information and provide performance analysis.
