Lecturer in English (Functional Skills) - Hourly Paid
We are pleased to announce an opportunity to join our team as an hourly paid Lecturer in Functional Skills (English). We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to contribute to our Adult Essential Skills Team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lecturer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality English Functional Skills education. You will be responsible for conducting thorough initial assessments to accurately determine learners' starting points. Working closely with learners, you will develop tailored learning plans to help them achieve their qualifications and apply their skills in real-life situations.
You will also ensure that all learners complete diagnostic assessments and use this information to design effective Functional Skills programmes that target areas requiring development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching functional skills, a commitment to student development, and a genuine passion for education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
To be successful, you should hold a recognised teaching qualification (Level 5 or above) and have experience teaching English at Level 2 within Further Education, across a variety of vocational areas. You should be an inspiring teacher, capable of motivating learners to achieve their goals and career aspirations.
