Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Employee Benefits Administration Assistant to join its busy Pay & Employee Services Department.

Delivering a service to over 40,000 employees across the NHS, you will work as part of a busy team and will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills to ensure effective service delivery.

You will assist with the administration of the Trust’s Lease vehicle scheme, providing quotes to users, assisting with the completion of lease car contracts, providing end user support to employees from the delivery of new vehicles and dealing with any ongoing support employees require during the term of their lease agreement.

You will also provide administration support in respect of the Salary Sacrifice schemes for the Trust and other Client’s, checking and verifying new order applications, ensuring deductions are processed through pay appropriately and any Taxable Benefits associated with the schemes are processed where appropriate.

You will be aware of National Living Wage (NLW) regulations and have some knowledge of Taxable Benefits to ensure that any new orders and ongoing arrangements are compliant and in line with legislation.

Previous experience of working within an Administrative role and the ability to demonstrate strong organisational skills, customer service experience and proficient in the use of electronic solutions would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

You will act as first line support for those contacting the department, liaising with employees, Managers, Clients and external companies on a daily basis, ensuring an excellent customer service is being provided at all times.

You will assist with the operation of fleet arrangements for a number of NHS Trusts and CCG’s in line with agreed policies and procedures.

You will assist with the financial administration of the fleet including processing invoice payments, debtor accounts, producing financial analysis and effecting journal transfers and dealing with insurance related matters. You will assist with the completion of lease contracts, deliveries and appraising vehicles on de-hire.

You will carry out all procedures relating to the payment of Tax, National Insurance and NHS Pension Scheme contributions on behalf of all clients.

You will assist with the administration of all Salary Sacrifice Employee Benefits schemes for all clients.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English or equivalent
  • Requirement to undertake internal HR & payroll and expenses system training to required standard
  • European Computer Driving Licence (or equivalent Microsoft Office qualifications)
Desirable criteria
  • CIPP or relevant qualifications

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with Employee Benefit Schemes – including Salary Sacrifice/Lease Cara
  • Prior experience of working within a team environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience of interrogating data through Microsoft office applications
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with the national NHS Payroll system ESR (Electronic Staff Record)
  • Experience of working with the ESR Connect software
  • Knowledge of NHS National Terms and Conditions of service
  • Knowledge of HMRC and statutory related regulations in particular Taxable Benefits
