Interim Financial Controller (Social Housing)

An established and mission-driven social housing organisation is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to provide strong financial leadership during a critical period. This role is ideal for a finance professional with experience in social housing or a similar sector, looking to make a tangible impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the year-end process, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Lead the budget-setting process, working closely with key stakeholders.
• Manage a team of three direct reports and eight indirect reports, providing guidance and development.
• Ensure robust financial controls and reporting systems are maintained.
• Work closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.

Key Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in financial leadership roles.
• Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in year-end processes and budgeting.
• Experience in social housing or a similar not-for-profit/public sector environment is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage and develop finance teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
