Main duties of the job

To work as a team member within the work environment carrying out assigned tasks involving the direct/indirect care of the patient in support of, and supervised by, a registered nurse.

To deal with all aspects of administration work in the reception outpatients and ward area. To maintain a high standard of politeness when dealing with visitors/patients and staff. Accurate and timely data entry is a vital part of the role

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level with A-C grades in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of Allscripts.

Skills and experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to interact with colleagues and other stakeholders courteously
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy – pays attention to detail.
  • Ability to priories and organise own workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Standard/good keyboard skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Governance

Essential criteria
  • To adhere to Governance within the Trust and to report as per Trust Guidelines
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Datix reporting

Personal/professional attributes

Essential criteria
  • Experience of or awareness of a range of working practices in an office setting and in dealing with customers
  • Experience of working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Previous relevant NHS experience
  • Previous experience of working within a busy environment
