MCG Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a well-established healthcare practice in Bristol for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner ANP to join their team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, autonomous nurse to provide high-quality care in a collaborative environment.

Role Overview

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of patient conditions. You will work autonomously, managing complex clinical cases and making independent decisions regarding patient care.

The role involves triaging urgent medical cases, conducting assessments, prescribing treatments, and developing management plans in partnership with the GP team.

You will ensure patients receive timely, patient-centered care, making informed decisions about referrals, investigations, and treatments. Additionally, you will assist in the creation of clinical guidelines to enhance the practice’s delivery of care.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, diagnose, and treat patients autonomously, providing high-quality care for a range of conditions.
Conduct clinical examinations and develop treatment plans, including independent prescribing.
Triage and prioritise same-day and urgent patient appointments.
Make referrals and manage investigations within appropriate timescales.
Collaborate with GPs and multidisciplinary team members to improve patient care.

Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, protocols, and quality initiatives.

About You

You will have at least 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 years in primary or community care. You should be highly skilled in managing minor illnesses and injuries, performing clinical assessments, and prescribing autonomously.

Strong leadership skills, a commitment to clinical governance, and experience in developing clinical guidelines or research will be highly regarded.

You will be an excellent communicator, able to make independent decisions and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You should also be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and have a passion for providing high-quality patient care.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

Minimum 5 years post-registration experience
At least 2 years’ experience in primary care or community nursing
Nurse-led management of minor illnesses and injuries
Nurse-led triage experience

Nurse prescribing qualification

Desirable:

Relevant nursing/health degree
Experience in clinical leadership and guideline development

Clinical examination skills
