Behaviour Support Worker - North West and West London

We are currently recruiting for full time or part time staff to work on established home and community-based programmes across North West London, including Brent, Haringey, and Hillingdon. You must be able to drive an automatic car with a clean UK drivers license.
Part-time availability is for one weekday plus Saturday and Sunday. You will work as part of a team supporting service users with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities across North West London with a focus on life skills and community participation.

We accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in supporting teenagers and young adults in their home and local community, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. Beam ABA Services adopts a "positive risk taking" approach in ensuring the young people we support are provided with opportunities that increase their independence and improve their quality of life.

We are a 7 day a week service - successful candidates should be available to work across both weekdays and weekends. Hours: Combination of Monday-Friday 3PM-9PM / 9AM-6PM; Saturday/Sunday 1PM-9PM; Saturday 9AM-3PM

You must be able to drive an automatic car on a UK license, and have availability to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Experience supporting individuals with autism and learning disability is essential.

Requirements

Duties
  • To assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice
  • To support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.
  • To monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets
  • To support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., challenging behaviour.
  • To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible
  • To assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication)
  • To model best practice and professionalism at all times
  • To attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules
  • To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard
  • To implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required
  • Flexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends
  • Other duties as required by your manager
Required qualifications and skills
  • 1 year of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism
  • Experience of supporting individuals who are non-verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication.
  • Clean driver's license
Preferred qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field
  • 1+ year of applied experience working with special needs population
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour
  • Experience utilising ABA methodology

  • Full-time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of £12.25-£14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for full-time staff from £22,295- £25,480 based on 35 hour working week - overtime hours available. You should be able to drive an automatic car and have availability to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Full training provided.
