Lab Technician
Lab technician, based in Staffordshire - 3-month temp contract. Recent Chemistry graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

SRG is working with a successful oil refinery company in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking for a Lab Technician to join initially on temporary a 3-month contract. You would be joining a fast-paced environment where your analytical skills and attention to detail will be crucial.The successful candidate will be joining a small laboratory team, supporting in the testing a range of samples including incoming material and finishes samples. This role would be a great for recent chemistry graduates looking to get some experience in industry.
Working Hours: Starting on day shifts, before moving on to a rotating shift pattern including 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am.Role / Description
- Sampling and testing of all incoming and outgoing materials
- Day-to-day analysis of production samples
- Analysis of waste oils using GC, FTIR, XRF, PMCC Flash point, Viscosity, Karl Fischer, colour index
- Sampling and analysis of production samples
- Routine lab work and Quality Control (QC) testing
- Keeping up to date data files - recording results and sharing findings
- Degree in Chemistry (or similar) or proven industrial experience in a similar laboratory environment
- Recent Chemistry graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply)
- Proven experience of analytical techniques including GC, FTIR, XRF, Viscosity testing is desirable but not essential
- Available with short or immediate notice is advantageous
- Willing and able to work at height
