About the Role
Bishop John Robinson CofE Primary School is seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with complex needs in our inclusive and nurturing primary school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in a child’s learning journey.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to provide tailored support for a pupil with a range of complex learning and developmental needs. This may include communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, medical support, and behaviour linked to their individual profile.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs, ensuring access to the curriculum and full participation in school life
- Implement individual learning and care plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Support the child with learning, communication and Language, sensory and social and emotional needs as required
- Monitor progress and keep accurate records in line with school and SEND protocols
- Collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with complex needs (desired but not essential)
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
- A willingness to learn and adapt to meet individual needs
- The ability to follow direction and also use initiative
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent are desirable
