Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join the Administration Team, which supports the Older Adult Day Services.
The Older Adult Day Service is a busy and forward-thinking team.
Support and supervision will be provided for the successful candidate.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week, 6 months fixed term or secondment opportunity.
Ideally, the successful candidate will work Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:30 and cover both Day Services in Derby and Ilkeston.
It is Trust policy that for posts that are for a time limited period, applicants who are currently employed by an NHS organisation will only be appointed on a secondment basis and should have approval from their line manager this is possible before applying.Applicants who are not employed by an NHS organisation, will receive a fixed term contract.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a polite telephone manner, knowledge and experience of using IT programs, such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word, SystmOne.
A significant part of the role will involve using Electronic Patient Records, complete typing and up-dating patient information.
There will also be a requirement to be front-of-house to cover Reception, where the successful applicant will be in direct contact with patients, professionals and visitors to the building and support other teams as and when needed.

Person specification
Qualification
Essential criteria- RSA Word Processing/Typing Grade II or equivalent Typing qualification / demonstrable experience.
- English Language – GCSE Grade C or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent IT qualification / demonstrable experience.
Skills
Essential criteria- Good standard of spelling and grammatical accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of using Microsoft computer packages
- Previous Clerical / Administration experience
- Experience of dealing with telephone enquiries
- Previous NHS experience
- Previous reception / front desk experience
