Job Description
Key Responsibilities for Sous Chef- Support Senior Kitchen Team: Assist in the daily operations, ensuring smooth, efficient service alongside senior kitchen staff.
- Culinary Expertise Across All Sections: Demonstrate proficiency in preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes for both events and restaurant service.
- Mentorship and Team Development: Train and mentor Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters, supporting their growth and skill development for future roles.
- Compliance with Safety and Hygiene Standards: Adhere to all legislative and government guidelines, including the Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, and COSHH regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
- Ideally have experience working within Education catering
- Have a progressive career to date
- Be up to date with current food trends
- Have a real passion for food and customer service
- Have good Health & Safety knowledge
- Be able to work within set budgets
- Know how to cost and plan menus accurately
- Be familiar with training and coaching a team
