Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking finance leader to be the Head of Finance Services for a prestigious organisation based in Pontypridd.

Role responsibilities

The Head of Finance Services (HoFS) will lead the Finance Service Centre of Excellence, a large team of finance operations and delivery roles providing services to all parts of the Group. As a senior member of the Central Finance leadership, the HoFS will oversee finance operations and ensure high levels of service delivery and support.

  • Lead and optimise the Finance Service Centre of Excellence organisation, and the services operations it delivers across the Group, by driving operational excellence, process design, standardisation and optimisation, and ensuring compliance across finance operations landscape to provide effective and efficient finance services to the group. This will include working with Finance Transformation functions and process Subject Matter Experts to deliver innovative and other automation initiatives.
  • Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing Service Centre of Excellence team, by fostering a high trust culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement to provide effective and efficient finance services to the group.
  • Oversee end-to-end transactional finance operations, including Purchase-to-pay (P2P), Order-to-cash (O2C), Cash and Treasury Management services and Passenger Revenue, by serving as the primary route of escalation and developing processes to monitor operational performance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational benchmarks by working with finance colleagues and the wider business to establish principles fit for the business
Who we're looking for
  • Qualified accountant with experience of working at a high level or similar role within a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of finance operations (such as shared services) including developing and managing service delivery, for example, against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Proven working experience of financial governance, audit, or internal control/compliance.
  • Experience of leading and managing a large team of differing levels of experience and qualifications, with the ability to establish and develop a team that meets changing business and budgetary requirements.

On offer:

A salary of from £70,000 to £80,000 plus a generous benefits package including heavily subsidised rail travel.
