The Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and dynamic English Teacher to join our well-established department. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring that students develop a love of English, as well as the necessary skills to excel in their studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and progress.
- Support students’ development through formative and summative assessments, ensuring that they achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development of the English department.
- Engage with parents/carers to keep them informed of student progress and welfare.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance students’ experience of English.
About You:
- We are looking for a passionate and motivated teacher who:
- Holds a relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS) and a degree in English or a related field.
- Has a strong understanding of the Key Stage 3 and 4 English curriculum.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Is committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Will contribute positively to our school community and uphold our values.
- Be able to provide two professional employment references.
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
