A team of over 700 Two Circlers work from nine offices across the world (London, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Kansas City, Paris, Bern, Cologne, and Melbourne) servicing our expanding international client base.

Data is at the center of our approach - helping clients to get a better understanding of their customers and deliver insights that influence top-level decision-making. From there, we develop digital products and integrate data and technology solutions that grow audiences and revenue across ticketing, participation, sponsorship and media.

Job Description:

As a part of our ongoing growth, we are expanding our software engineering capability and are looking for an experienced Test Automation Lead to join our London office and lead from the front in the technical design and implementation of our test automation strategy.

You will have a proven track record of not just designing but implementing a testing strategy whilst solving complex engineering problems. We are looking for a team player who is able to mentor and upskill other engineers whilst setting the bar for best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Engineering Managers, Engineering Leads and Product Managers to understand problems and define technical scope for global sports properties.
  • You will be hands on, designing, building and delivering testing strategies and solutions for clients whilst encompassing and establishing best practice in coding standards for test automation.
  • Designing frameworks to help streamline the creation of acceptance and testing criteria.
  • Leading and influencing the design of software architecture both in house and alongside clients.
  • You will be active in the hiring of other Software Engineers whilst helping refine and improve the process.
  • Being an advocate for developer experience and a keen interest in continually improving it.
  • Encouraging a blameless culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • This is a hybrid role where you are expected to be in our London office for 2 days a week and occasionally travel to client offices in London and EMEA .

Requirements

Your Skills

What we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 5+ years experience in test automation engineering.
  • A high level of experience in agile development practices, continuous integration and test automation via various methods such as unit, integration, contract and E2E testing.
  • You believe in a shift left approach with a focus on defect prevention.
  • You have previously worked in a microservices environment and have designed testing plans which prevent breaking changes and ensure services are performant and resilient.
  • A high level of proficiency and understanding in a variety of test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or equivalent. Experience with Appium is an added bonus.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing tools such as BrowserStack, AWS device farm, Sauce Labs or equivalent.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman with Newman or Rest Assured.
  • Experience with performance and load testing suites such as K6, ReadyAPI, JMeter, Gatling or equivalent.
  • You are able to observe the performance and health of applications via tools such as Prometheus, Data Dog, Sentry, Grafana etc.
  • Experience in a CI / CD environment where you have utilised tools such as Circle CI, GitHub actions or Azure DevOps etc.
  • An appreciation of DevOps and platform engineering culture. You don’t just write code, but you also like to build and ship it, utilising cloud computing platforms and services, such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • A flair for simplicity when problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences to explain your solutions and collaborate effectively with others.

Nice To Have:

  • You have an interest and are keen to explore the role which AI can play in streamlining test automation.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture.
  • A keen interest in sport and sports businesses.
